Core Keeper, played multiplayer and finished all the contentĮdit again: I do have a VR headset, so I'm fine with recommendations there. Siralim Ultimate, which got way too complicated way too quickly for me to get super into.Necesse, which I enjoyed quite a bit, but it definitely feels better multiplayer, where I've mostly finished all the content thus far.I tried 9th Dawn 3, but it had a bit too much grind and dungeon crawling without enough interesting abilities to break up the monotony, but something in that same kind of category.Įdit: Ideally something designed to be singleplayer.Īnd to add some other niche things I've played and enjoyed singleplayer: I feel like I've played every major RPG, and I'm looking for something else to eat my time. Also, just a reminder that anyone who bought those huge itch.io charity bundles probably has Beacon there (it was in "Racial Justice and Equality", "Palestinian Aid", and "Indie Bundle for Abortion Funds", according to ).Īnything out there that's pretty niche and open-world or time consuming? Game is rather janky, but interesting and definitely unique. That fits the theme but it does really constrain your agency, since you can't just start a run the way you want and you may have something you want to play with but you mess up and the run is over and now you can't use that next time. It also has a very unique system of progression where instead of growing or unlocking, you setup your next run stats/bonuses after your previous run ends, so there's no overall upgrade and what you have from run to run can really vary and fluctuate (with several factors outside your control on what they actually do, and things you may want to keep expiring after a few runs). I can tell you it's poor on controller and better on kbm. That dev is seriously bungling/failing their early access and people should wait to see what they actually end up delivering/fixing.īeacon is a very strange one and hard to say how it will play for someone.
